Join two members
Consider a design where two collinear beams span three steel columns. The middle column is to be removed. Your goal is to join the physical and analytical beam members into one beam that spans the outer columns.
- Delete the middle column.

Select

Join Elements ) from the ribbon.
There are no tool settings for the Join Elements tool. You are prompted to "Identify First Element to Join".

Enter a data point to select the first beam.
You are now prompted to "Identify Second Element to Join".

Select the second member.
The two beams are joined into one beam. Both the physical and analytical components of the beams are joined.
